it's that time of year again, summer; schools out & kids go to camp... also when Ellen Harris gets her decorating bug... this time around its for her living room. a space that has been used for mostly storage ever since they moved in. its time for an organized space dedicated to reading, relaxing and adult time. i met E last week to go over her wish list for the space and to take a peek at her 'book' .... a huge binder where she collects ideas from magazines. i had a lot of ideas swirling in my head for this
my plan is to leave the piano where it is and place the sofa along the window wall, add in two matching chairs across from the sofa to create an intimate conversation space. i came across an amazing vintage kilim rug from Turkey that i had to have for this project. i showed E the picture of it on my phone and she was instantly in love with it. I called over to Slate to put it on hold, and me & E trucked on over to pick it up! take a look at this gem, my jumping off point....!!!
i love a client who isn't afraid of color and doesn't mind something vintage! score!
here's where we've landed for the new living space...
we are still deciding on a funky fabric for an ottoman as well as an eclectic mix of pillows for the sofa. you'll have to check back for the reveal on this one!
design is a way of life.
