the first project installed in phase two at the natwick's house, the kids' lounge!
i LOVE how it turned out. it's comfy, colorful and works for this family of five.
but, before i show you how it looks now, let's see where we started.
the design board...
i used orange as the accent color downstairs, and wanted to incorporate it
upstairs as well. it ties the house together, and after all, there is a direct view up the staircase to the kids' lounge.
the room has one large expanse of wall that was crying out for art of some kind.
my solution, frame a great wallpaper! it's makes the room, it doesn't overwhelm it.
the sofa and media cabinet are custom pieces that fit the room perfectly.
now there is plenty of space for the family to relax together, and everyone has a spot.
we replaced the desk with something larger and more functional, but repurposed the existing table they were using for a desk. it's the perfect spot for games.
i'm crazy for the pop of red these new chairs provide.
poufs are a great way to incorporate some casual seating, and they're indestructible!
these pull the color palette together and add some color to the floor.
it's almost time for the reveal, but let's see the room 'before'
it looked like this...
and now it looks like this...
the custom media cabinet turned out great. the push mechanism keeps the look clean.
stay tuned for the other installs of phase two, the living and dining rooms.
i might have a little house envy...
design is a way of life.
