and now for part two of my install in london, the bedrooms...
designing the master bedroom was a lot of fun. courtney said she and robert hadn't bought new bedroom furniture since they got married, so i wanted to make sure she and robert had a beautiful, calming retreat away from home.
the only restriction, no brown and green. no problem...
my solution, a custom headboard surrounded by these gorgeous fabrics.
i was drawn to the viridian and found the perfect lamps to match.
next up, the kids' bedrooms. these rooms are tiny, no room for a dresser even.
i must say, i thought they were precious.
when i received the email from robert about the project, i knew immediately the fabric i wanted to use in carter's and jackson's rooms. bold, colorful, fun, with some softer supporting fabrics...
for carter's room, i used this amazing magnolia print. i'm completely smitten with it!
i pulled out the minty blue from the fabric and ran with it on the custom drapes.
the black in the fabric was a great grounding element that makes the palette able to grow with carter and not look too 'baby.'
i love how this lamp pulls out the tiny stems of orangey coral.
in jackson's room, this bright geometric was the perfect starting point.
i love the combination of red and acid green, so designing a custom poppy red headboard was the perfect backdrop.
although there wasn't room for lots of furniture, bare walls do nothing for me! i came across this art piece and thought it was perfect to remind jackson of home.
i certainly hope i helped the maddox family feel more at home while they're away from charlotte. it was a pleasure working with them again and an amazing experience to design my first international project!
design is a way of life.
