one of the last spaces in the glidewell's home to get my designer touch was the bonus room/playroom.... a 3rd floor addition the family had recently added onto their home. the space is dedicated to the kids & all of their toys, plus the girls gymnastics equipment... the space is long & wide, and Kristi wanted to keep it somewhat sophisticated. there are 3 zones in the space.... the TV/lounging area, the desk/creative area & the gymnastics area. this time around I was able to venture out of the blue color palette that Kristi loves... the end result is a space that the kids & parents can enjoy for many years to come without having to change anything!
let's take a look at the details...
the bonus room is a neutral palette of tans & cream, with a pair of sofa's that I had to work around. I wanted my fabrics to pop and the wood pieces to give some contrast..
I think I hit the nail on the head with this sophisticated look - even hubby admits it was worth hiring a designer for a kids space! score! :)
design is a way of life.
