i've had the pleasure of working with my client lauren brandt on two projects already and was thrilled to work on her den too. lauren is an ideal client, so easy to work with and she trusts her designer! we started this project when lauren was expecting her son davis, and she was itching to give the den an overhaul!
she loves a hint of orange, and her beautiful dining room already had a sprinkle of the color on the chandelier and chair cushions. the walls in the den were already blue, and as the compliment to orange, we kept the blue and built the room around that color scheme.

and the end result...
the fireplace was red brick, so we gave it a facelift with some creamy white paint; which instantly freshened the room. giving the firebox a fresh coat of fire-retardant black paint tidied things up and made the birch logs really pop. the existing built-in doors had clear glass, so to hide clutter, we applied grasscloth to the glass panels. a simple, easy fix you can do with any type of wallpaper or even decorative contact paper. don't be afraid to get creative, there are 'temporary' wallpapers available now via tempaper. you can easily change the look of your room on a whim. happy decorating!
