it's week two of the one room challenge with linda of blog 'calling it home' and i'm pretty excited to share the design for the kids' bathroom. it's full of fun details, some vintage goodies, and my boys are even excited! take a look...
we have a vintage camper that we've yet to renovate, i was thinking of saving that for another one room challenge ;) so i fell for these cute camper prints from etsy. not sure which one(s) i'll use at this point, but they were great inspiration!
to date, i've ordered the sink, faucet, hooks and sconce. this week i plan to order the wallpaper (still need to measure for that) figure out the art, and send the vanity to be lacquered. wish me luck!
make sure to check out the other linking participants at calling it home today, and for the next four thursdays, there are tons of great projects to see!
design swell. live well.
happy june everybody! i'm really excited to share this project with all of you. not only are my clients newlyweds and new home owners, stephanie treece just happens to be the most amazing hair stylist on the planet and a great friend of mine. she and husband matt purchased a home in albemarle, nc that belonged to matt's grandmother. all the house needed was a little update, it's full of custom details via matt's grandfather. a few coats of pale gray paint did wonders here. we've already installed some items, you may have seen this pic of the dining area on my instagram.
take a look at how the spaces are going to end up, we're getting close and i can't wait to share the final result!
steph and matt are just so sweet and i'm so happy i got to be a part of their new home. i'm excited to work on their master bedroom next, and nursery someday ;)
design swell. live well!
I recently came across a groovy fabric line, fresh from the UK. I'm really diggin' the colors and patterns and plan to use these in a few jobs that are coming up! Take a look at what's on our design wall as of late.....
Hope this helps to brighten up your Sunday!
while researching new color trends, i came across this post from sherwin williams on the 2013 color forecast. i'm not typically a fan of pastels (unless it's pastel gray) but i have to say these retro inspired hues caught my attention.
it's pastel kicked up a notch. paired with black, it's grown up, not girly.
are you inspired yet?
how about incorporating some of these elements to really carry the theme.
try a funky wallpaper on an accent wall or ceiling!
the iconic panton chair. i can't get enough. i have two of these in white in my home. they make great desk and dining chairs.
for the really adventurous, add a hanging bubble chair.
make sure you have it installed properly. it also comes with a stand if you'd rather not deal with structural issues.
these new fabrics are fun and would be great in a kitchen.
i'm loving the mondrian inspired pattern!
another fav of mine, the sputnik light fixture. while they're usually chrome...
i'm CRAZY for this brass version with GREEN bulbs. so chic.
i would totally use this in my dining room.
when decorating your home, don't take things too seriously. having fun
and taking risks is the best part of design, and anyway, paint is easy to change.
design is a way of life.
