i've been on the hunt for the perfect coffee table for a client of mine and wanted to share some of the beautiful options i'm considering. gold is back in a HUGE way, which i personally love, and these coffee tables are nothing less than stunning!

It was so nice to reconnect with my friend & client, Kelley Sink recently. She is such a sweet lady to work with, and even though she jokes of being OCD with her lists and questions…. I get it…. I get her. A few years ago I designed her second child's nursery… but this time around, her projects consisted of sprucing up the adult areas of their home.
The first space she needed help in was the dining room. The plain brown room looked like a blob of brown paint… there was nothing interesting about this space except for the coffered ceiling. And while she didn't want to get into painting the room, she did want to add some things to help finish off and add pizazz because it is the first space you see when you enter their front door. The foyer needed a little help as well.. a new rug & a little styling did just the trick!
take a look..
While we were at it… Kelley had me update some things in her master bedroom as well…. She loves navy and I immediately found this is paisley fabric with an ikat twist and had to use it in here. Paired with jade green, the color combo is perfect..
The end result in here is a light & airy master retreat which Kelley loves!!! She already has me searching for a navy cabinet to house all of her books and lavender accessories to finish off this space..
design swell. live well.
this post is long over due.... ashley and i have been so busy lately with new clients and projects that we just had to stop and take a day last week to get this space photographed! i couldn't wait any longer :-)
if you remember back, the end of january or so, i did the 'on the boards' post for this project. the space definitely turned out better than even i could've imagined! repeat client Kristi is so easy going and a breeze to work with. she trusts my design abilities and is game for whatever i throw at her. after patiently waiting for the addition to be complete, it was finally my turn to go in and work my magic. install day was easy- peasy, we started ordering everything back in February, so there wouldn't be any glitches or hold ups on my end. we did have one little snag when i found out the wallpaper we were planning to install had been discontinued and i could only get 4 rolls of it.... but really i think that was a blessing in disguise. my favorite part of the entire space is the new wallpaper we ended up going with, it is gorgeous!!!!
take a look at where we started....
Kristi's favorite color is blue, it's all over her house in doses here and there, it is beautiful, traditional meets restoration hardware i'd describe it.. so i knew i had to incorporate blue in this space for her to love it. i wanted a very cohesive look, neutrals with pops of blue. i love the shape of this headboard by oly but since it wasn't the right color, i had my upholsterer Jeff do a replica of it with a pop of blue down the 'track' of the bed... its the little unexpected accent's that i love. Kristi also wanted to have a funky chair in the space, so i decided to have this one custom done with different fabrics, a one of a kind that no one else will have.
the en suite bathroom is something from a boutique hotel!!! absolutely stunning. i wanted to bring some texture in here, so we decided to clad the walls with grey grass cloth. since this bathroom won't be used too often, my installer ensured us that going with grass cloth would be fine. Kristi wanted to do a unique vanity in here so i had my cabinet millworker, Wes, create this piece from scratch... man he is good!
this is where we ended up.....
i love, love, love this space!!!!!! i'm moving in ;-)
working with Kristi and collaborating with Chris Thayer of Kloiber Construction couldn't have been easier. his team worked hard and quickly to get the space done so i could move everything into place within just a few months.
next up is the playroom addition that i get to tackle.....
i love to entertain! and a well stocked bar is a must in my book. whether it be cocktails & appetizers or a sunday brunch, i am constantly in the kitchen whipping up something and trying to find an excuse to have folks over.
i've noticed lately that bar carts are popping up all over with our vendors, and a well stocked & styled one is key to entertaining. a cabinet, tray or cart, or where ever you have space to set one up can definitely make your party feel a bit more swanky.
my friend, Amy, recently requested that I seek out to find her the perfect bar cart for a little nook she has in her kitchen, so I have been on the hunt. there are so many different shapes, sizes & styles, picking the perfect one really depends on the look you are going for.
so, you've got a bar cart or a cabinet you want to use for entertaining, here's a little lesson on styling it up.....
1. get a good assortment of alcohol & mixers for your party
2. a fun print is good to have to "layer" on the cart or cabinet... and remind us all that
there can be a time to let loose :)
3. this bar cart from Crate & Barrel could work with many different design styles
4. loving this tray.... i'm crazy for gold + chevron!
5. mix & match different tumblers for an eclectic look that can double as pretty eye candy. anthropologie is a good go-to for funky glass ware
6. how about a snazzy cocktail shaker in gold, of course!!
7. i love monogrammed napkins, so classy
8. wine bottle stoppers are not created equal! these gems are gorgeous!
9. decanters are a must for any bar set-up. i love finding vintage ones at the local flea.
need help with yours at home? give us a call... we have oodles of resources that we use to get you that one of a kind look. don't be afraid to scour local junk shops, flea markets & yard sales too!
it's five o'clock somewhere, right???
My recent obsession is anything gold. I love it in fashion and I definitely love it in the home! We've been seeing tons of new items popping up with that added touch of gold, and it can really add to that wow factor. Take a look at some of my recent fave's ....
