originally, the master bedroom was not on my list of rooms to design. yes, you heard me correctly, i said NOT on my list. if you remember this little project; HIS bedroom became OUR bedroom after we were engaged. after a little over a year in our house, the masculine bedroom is starting to wear on me. after all, i'm surrounded by boys, sometimes lots of boys, unless mark's daughter grayson comes to visit. so imagine my surprise when mark brought up tweaking the design of the bedroom!
yes, please and thank you...
there's nothing wrong with the room now, we'll be keeping all of the major elements, just swapping out the rug, pillows and panels and adding a few new accessories. believe me, it took a while for me to arrive here, designing for yourself can sometimes be difficult. the rest of the house came together in a snap, mainly because i knew exactly what i wanted, but this room tripped me up. i was swimming in ideas and concepts and just couldn't pull the trigger. i'm glad i took my time because i LOVE how it looks and so does mark. take a look at my ideas...
i tried a more subtle palette, but it just wasn't me. i'm all about color and pattern, that's my signature design aesthetic, and now this room will fit in with the rest of our house. thank you lindsey for looking at design board after design board, so lucky to have you to bounce ideas off of!
stay tuned for install pics, we're having a party for my birthday/valentine's day, so the deadline is looming! design swell. live well!
design is a way of life.
