while I was in raleigh doing the install for Catherine's kitchen, I finally got around to photographing the dining room I did for them back in the fall. this time the makeover was for their wedding anniversary. Catherine and Michael love to entertain and have dinner parties so a space to fit 6
or more was a must. she also wanted to use their wedding china as inspiration for the color palette and they love orange & purple so when I came across this Duralee fabric i knew it would be perfect for their window treatments. lets see the original design I came up with....
now for the good stuff....
thats a wrap for now... I am looking forward to more projects with
these guys, stay tuned for their office project coming later this fall !!!
a few weeks ago I was back in Raleigh for the install of a breakfast nook for friend's Catherine & Michael. i love how they plan these house updates around special occasions, it gives them something to look forward to and this time it was for Catherine's birthday!
the design for their space is light & airy with a shabby chic feel. i had a blank slate. the couple wanted a larger table to host informal dinners where their current table couldn't hold more than 2 people. they needed a buffet cabinet that fit the space better and a rug to define the eating area. here's a look at my original design..
all cleared out and ready for the new stuff!!!!
i'm super happy with the way this space turned out, i can't decide which piece is my fave; the chandelier, the art, the side chairs are all beautiful!
stay tuned for the reveal of the dining room i did for these guys....
today i'm super excited to share a dreamy bedroom i designed for clay and lane hellner. as busy professionals, they needed a place to relax and unwind, but their existing space was doing little to promote that. the room needed a brighter paint color on the walls and ceiling, lighter furnishings, and a larger rug. we also gave their master bathroom a little refresh with paint, accessories and art.
before we see the before and afters, take a look at the design board for the room.
my client loves purple, so i chose a few pops here and there without it being over the top. it's hard to say if my favorite thing is the panel fabric from harlequin, or the velvet pillow fabric from romo black. both are equally drool worthy!
so i won't keep you waiting any longer.... take a look at the before and afters!
and a few shots from the master bathroom...
some new towels, paint, accessories, a reupholstered cushion, accent pillows and a large piece of art help lighten and brighten this bathroom.
i love how these spaces turned out, hope you enjoyed this one too! design swell. live well.
It's such a compliment when past clients come back for round 2 of design help in their homes! The Nemeth's have been with us since day one - I designed their nursery for son Charlie and it was now time for him to get an upgrade. The majority of the original pieces stayed. Alison really wanted to get twin beds into the room while keeping at least the cozy chair for reading. The dresser made an exit and now fits perfectly in their upstairs hallway. And since the original design was rather sophisticated, we didn't have to make many changes to the overall feel of the room.
This new bedroom is kid-approved.....
I mean Charlie-approved :-)
until next time...
design swell. live well
design is a way of life.
