i'm really excited to share today's featured project. after waiting on the kitchen table to finally arrive, i was able to photograph this install. you can read about all the projects to get up to speed; this blog post focuses on the living room, foyer and kitchen areas.
since this was a new build, i don't have any before pictures, but i'll show you the design boards again to see where we started. let's start at the front door...
the living room...
this is by far the most tame palette i've ever used, and i love how it turned out! the colors are so soothing and they all flow together to create a cohesive main level for my clients. i'm still in love with all the #arteriorshome lamps i used for this project, stunning! until next time, design swell. live well.
I have been working with my client's Kristina & Adam for a couple of weeks now getting the designs just right for their baby girl due in November.
The room they plan to use as the nursery is big and open with lots of light & windows. There is plenty of space to float the crib in the middle of the room and have 2 gliders on one end and a dresser on the other end. There is also room for a reading nook where we will incorporate a bookcase and a child rocker that was Kristina's when she was a kid. The color palette is inspired by this super cute animal fabric that the couple came across... pink & orange with pops of aqua and a small dose of purple :)
Here is the design plan:
I love the color combination, this should be a super cute safari inspired nursery!
Can't wait to install everything!!
design swell. live well.
i must apologize to you that follow the blog, i've been MIA for way too long. i'm working on lots of goodies, more on those soon i promise, so the blog has been on the back burner for a while.
i'm working on my third project with the hertzigs and this time around we're tackling their family room. the existing space is dark and my clients were tired of the huge brown sectional taking up most of the room. aside from the coffee table, it's the ONLY piece of furniture in the room! the goal is to lighten, brighten and modernize the space to match the rest of the house. take a look at the starting point and my colorful ideas!
the room now...
and my options for transforming it...
we've already made some changes to the adjacent kitchen area in phase 2, and this room will tie in with that color palette. since green is my favorite color, i'm crazy about both designs. you'll have to stay tuned to see which option was chosen; i'm excited to share! design swell. live well.
It's a girl!
I am so excited to finally reveal the gender of baby Cowell. A sweet little girl was born last weekend and I had the pleasure of putting together one of my favorite designs for the expecting couple.
The Cowell's came to me after trying to put together their own gender neutral nursery, which they had no luck with. I happily accepted the challenge and we got to work with only 14 weeks to spare (actually more like 8 once I got the OK to start ordering) so needless to say I was a little stressed about pulling this off.
I started pulling together options for a boy & girl and after lots of tweaking we came up with 2 beautiful options I knew they'd be happy with. I was then able to reach out to their Dr. to find out the gender of the baby. Install day went so smooth and I am ecstactic with the results!
I absolutely love this serene nursery. The perfect space for a little madam :)
I was missing the table lamp & mobile when the photos were taken, so my clients sent over one of their shots... thanks guys!
