I recently designed three rooms for clients kavya and vishnu in columbia, sc. a dining room, a home office and a family room. I feel each room deserves it's own post, so be on the look out for more on these rooms later this week.
to say I'm thrilled to share this install is a MAJOR understatement! hands down, this is my favorite room I've designed to-date. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with all the touches of pink sprinkled around the room, but the wallpaper, chandelier, rug, I could go on and on...
let's see where this room started, then let the drooling begin...
this amazing telefina panel fabric from @maxwellfabrics was the inspiration for the entire room. the pink is obvious, but look closely and you'll see small pops of embroidered turquoise dots. i actually just got to meet the designer for telefina & maxwell, the super talented @jenniferapple. hope you like how this project turned out!
i am crazy for this piece of art. the subtle hints of minty blue mimic the color painted in the coffered ceiling and the vases on the table.
this room just makes me happy, period, and i'm so grateful to my clients for trusting my vision for this room. kavya and vishnu are some of the sweetest people i've had the pleasure to work with, they even made me traditional indian tea on install day :)
stay tuned for posts on their home office and family room. we're tackling the master bedroom next; it will not disappoint! design swell. live well.
i'm super excited to be working with brad and erica mark on several projects at their southpark home. erica and i went to high school together and recently reconnected on 'beginner's day' when our sons were starting kindergarten. soon after, she contacted me needing help with her master bedroom, family room, foyer, home office and soon-to-be-constructed screened porch. take a look at what i've got planned for some of these spaces...
the install gets started in two weeks! stay tuned for final pics!!! design swell. live well.
I recently reconnected with a family I used to babysit for back in my college days, the Moss' family. it's been probably 8 years since I have seen them & It's so neat to see how much their kids have grown up. makes me feel old!
beth reached out to me for help in their dining room, she is ready for an overhaul. their current table is worn and with another antique Duncan Phyfe in storage its time to pull it out and replace the old one, and lets freshen things up in here while we're at it..
the space before......
we are going to reupholster their current chair seats, add in a new buffet piece, and really make the space pop with a gorgeous Robert Allen fabric on new curtain panels.
take a look at my vision for the space...
everything is in the works, so this should be a quick job with an easy install! can't wait!
i am gearing up for a fabulous install this week for the Currence family. i met these guys a while back when they were still in the purchasing stages of their new home in the elizabeth area. we reconnected and nailed down the designs and i can't wait to install on thursday!
their living room is a long open space, over 15' wide, with no dividers, walls, nothing. the couple couldn't envision what to do, but after multiple layout options and help visualizing what will go in here, I was able to get them on board.
on one side there is a fireplace, so we will do a sofa and pair of chairs and let this be the wine drinking, conversation area. the other is where the tv will go, so I proposed a big comfy sectional, another set of chairs and a large ottoman to complete this space. we are doing 2 matching rugs to tie the spaces together and leaving a definitive walk way from the front door to other spaces in the home.
take a look at the space I am working with...
keeping the couple's eclectic style in mind, I pulled together a colorful scheme using an art piece as a jumping off point....
heres's what I have in store for this new spacious living room....
I am super excited to put this room together this week, stay tuned for the reveal!!
design is a way of life.
